Koreans' Attitude toward Konglish

Granted the status of the English language within the Korean society, its high demand in Korean education, and the Korean government's consideration of the English language being tantamount to advancement and international competitiveness, I conducted empirical research to determine how Koreans feel about Konglish being promoted within academia and accepted as a standard variety of English.

  • If you are interested in hearing responses of what 17 Korean participants think about Konglish, its use, and potential of being used as a standardized English language variety, you can download the results here.

    • The study was conducted by administering a questionnaire survey via email to Korean English teachers.
